5 Best P2P File Sharing Applications

Posted by admin in Computer, Computer, ... | 11.14.2007 - 11:17 pm

p2p-napster.png

Hello Everyone! This is Haris from SizzledCore and I am having the honor to Guest Blog at Sizlopedia. I would like to share some of my best picks related to P2P File sharing applications. For more tips and tricks and other internet and software walkthroughs please visit my blog.

Best P2P File Sharing Applications

Recently I downloaded many free P2P (Peer-to-Peer) sharing applications and gave them a try to see which was best for me. Some of them were good, I got nice speeds, but some were extremely slow. Here I bring you the list of the best of P2P applications available for free and can be used to download music, movies etc.

1. Limewire

LimeWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing client for the Java Platform, which uses the Gnutella network to locate and transfer files. Released under the GNU General Public License, Limewire is free software. It also encourages the user to pay a fee, which will then give the user access to LimeWire Pro. The Pro version allows you to download at very fast speeds, the search results are optimized, and the Pro version has its own unique skin.

2. Shareaza

Shareaza is a peer-to-peer file sharing client which supports the Gnutella, Gnutella2, EDonkey Network, BitTorrent, FTP and HTTP network protocols and which can handle magnet links, ed2k links, Piolet links, and the now deprecated Gnutella links. It is available in 27 languages. It has loads of features and download speeds are also impressive.

3. Kazaa

Kazaa Media Desktop is a peer-to-peer file sharing application using the FastTrack protocol. Kazaa is owned by Sharman Networks and is infamous for the alleged high number of computer viruses, trojans and worms it helped to propagate. Kazaa is commonly used to exchange MP3 music files over the Internet. However it can also be used to exchange other file types, such as videos, applications, and documents. The official Kazaa client can be downloaded free of charge, bundled with adware and spyware, although there are “No spyware” claims found on Kazaa’s website. Throughout the past few years, Kazaa’s developing company has been the target of many copyright-related lawsuits. For some reason, I hate Kazaa and don’t like it. Once I download an audio file and my PC got infected with hundreds of bugs and viruses.

4. iMesh

iMesh is a file sharing and online social network. It uses a proprietary, centralized, P2P protocol. iMesh is owned by an American company iMesh, Inc. and maintains a development center in Israel. iMesh was the first company to introduce “swarming” - the ability to download one file from multiple sources, increasing download speed. Not better though. Limewire still stays at the top of the list!

5. BearShare

BearShare is a peer-to-peer file sharing application originally created by Free Peers, Inc. for Microsoft Windows and currently sold by MusicLab, LLC. They have given file-sharing a new meaning. With this, you can do the usuals like downloading music, movies plus you can even see other users’ profiles, photos etc. You can chat with your friends and meet many new people there. And it support hundreds on MP3 players.

Perhaps this is one of my most unusual posts ever but lets just say I am one of those horny computer geeks too who would love to type on a USB Keyboard Bra. Yes thats right! Angel Kitty from Japan have designed a USB Keyboard that a girl can wear as her bra lol. Finally I think its time when technology meets fashion.

The USB Keyboard Bra For Geeks

The USB Keyboard Bra has been made using soft silicone material with beautiful pink lace stitched to its sides. This is definitely the best choice for those Geek guys and Geek Husbands who want to have a day of romance and pleasure with their desperate girlfriends and wives. I think you should definitely try this out (on your girlfriends that is) lol.

The cost of this unusual sizzling computer gadget is ¥15,750 which makes nearly $130 US Dollars. This USB Keyboard Bra does seem appealing and attractive but may not be the best choice for those geeks who want to do serious work on their computers. Colorful LED Keyboard For Your Computer

Posted by admin in Computer, Computer, ... | 11.14.2007 - 11:12 pm

led keyboard

My readers would have definitely known by now the extent to which I love all those computer gadgets and especially computer keyboards. Even though I do not want to write about every single keyboard out there but the emotion is so strong that I really can’t help it. Recently Geekalerts featured a unique keyboard on their site which was simply off the hook. The keyboard is not a gizmo-type keyboard (means it does not have any unique functionaly) but actually it were the looks that drove me crazy.

Color LED Keyboard

This is probably the most amazing computer keyboard you will ever see. The Korean keyboard is made by luxeed and the special thing about this keyboard is that it has LED’s fixed separately inside each key which glow as you type on it. There are two versions namely white and black. The white one costs for $127 and the black one has an amazing price of $134.

glow-keyboard.jpg

There comes a software with the LED keyboard package which allows you to customize and change the settings of how the LEDs behave when a finger comes in contact with a key. You can define custom patterns or even set how indivisual LEDs will respond to a touch action. You can view full live demonstration of the LED keyboard in the YouTube video below.

First the keyboard hype and now computer mouse reviews (Yeah! you probably think I am going insane aren’t you?) but the truth is that I love gadgets because I do not have a girl friend (Ok lol now that was a sweet joke)

Rotino Sigma: The Smallest Computer Mouse Ever

This tiny little sweet and cute mouse that you see in the picture above is called Rotino Sigma (now thats one sexy name) and it is popular because it is known to be the smallest travel mouse ever made. The mouse is really unique and is made by a Japanese company (as usual). It is an optical laser mouse with a retractable USB cable and a very light body. This is perhaps the best choice for those people who travel a lot and want a sort of portable mouse (It will fit smoothly in your pocket) which they can easily use anywhere at any time.

Rotino Sigma: Product Specifications

Though there are not much product specifications for this mouse but I will still elaborate the ones I can. For me, personally speaking, I think my palm can easily cover the whole mouse (oops! no place left for left and right click buttons)

  • Light weight measuring only 40-grams
  • Sleek dimensions 30 x 70 x 20-mm
  • Adjustable sensitivity 1000 dpi-2000 dpi

and it costs for only $25 (now that is really sweet)
